Central Taxis is a family business and has been for over 35 years. We are continually building for the future, with members of the family in all departments, and making the systems work efficiently with the implementation of high technology.

We offer Private Hire Taxis, Executive Travel, Airport Travel, Multi-Seat people carriers and Courier Services. We are fully insured and licensed to conform with all local authority directives.

All our drivers are licensed and CRB checked by Wolverhampton City Council. We always aim to provide the most professional service to individuals and businesses alike.

We work extremely hard to run an efficient, prompt and reliable service to all our customers, and welcome any member of the public into our offices to see us work, and to put forward any suggestions that they may have (no rude one's please!).

The Latest Technology - The Most efficient Service

We have invested in the very latest technology and computerised equipment to ensure the best possible service to our customers. Our I.T. systems include computerised booking, GPS tracking and customer RINGBACK Service

Global Positioning System - GPS

GPS Satellite

Our entire base offices use the latest booking and Data technology from GPC Computers. We also have a GPS mapping system with dataheads installed into all our vehicles. This new technology is designed to enhance the service to our customers and to make booking taxis as efficient and reliable as possible.

The base takes calls from customers whose telephone numbers and addresses appear on our sophisticated computer systems, making the booking of taxis easier and quicker.

The bookings are then dispatched to the nearest vehicle located using GPS (Global Positioning System). The vehicle is then guided to the customer with the minimum of fuss. The driver no longer has to look through an A-Z map to find the pick up or drop off address, the map on the GPS enabled data-head equipment within the taxi shows the driver exactly where to go.

If you enquire as to the exact location of your car, our operators can track your vehicle, and tell you it's precise position by using the GPS (Global Positioning) tracking system.

We feel that by investing in these latest systems, we are able to offer our customers the very highest service levels possible!

Our operators can give estimates on the cost of your taxi journey and tell you how soon we can arrange to get a taxi to you.

By using our special FREE RINGBACK SERVICE you can wait in comfort and safety until we alert you when your taxi is ready at your pre-arranged pick up point.

Call Catcher

All our telephone calls are recorded by a computerised 'call catcher' system that enables us to both monitor the quality of our service but also allows us the added security of being able to check back on booking details if necessary.

Anniversaries

While Central Taxis has been in business for over 35 years, 2009 was a special year for Gerry and Jeanne Turner, directors of Central Taxis, as it marked 25 years of marriage and start of their business partnership, both of which remain happy and successful. To celebrate this 25 Year Anniversary Central Taxis organised a Fun Day and "25/25" Cricket Match as a charitable event raising money for a local charity, Compton Hospice.

The Fun Day and 25/25 Cricket Match took place on 9th August at the Wightwick and Finchfield Cricket Club in Wolverhampton. The Central Taxis cricket team faced tough opponents in the form of the Wightwick and Finchfield Cricket Team, including fund raising competitions and raffles, a barbecue and various games for the children.

The weather was wonderful and sunny and provided a perfect cricketing climate which helped draw in the crowds. Everyone who took part heralded the events as being extremely enjoyable and successful! We raised £745.00 for Compton Hospice, which was brilliant thanks to all the magnificent help and support from everyone who took part!

Central will be around for a long time, and I know that when Jeanne and I are no longer here that our children will have the same drive and determination to be the best - as we do today.

We would also like to thank all our staff and drivers, past and present, who have helped make Central what it is, without them we could not have achieved what we have, they are very much a part of our family, a good number of whom have been with us for many years. Thanks to you all.
